Indianapolis, Indiana

The Blue Q is available and in circulation at the Haughville Branch Library, in Indianapolis.

Welcome to Indy, the city best known for being the racing capital of the world. The people of this great city have a deeply competitive spirit along with history that is engrained in their culture as much as it is a part of their professional sports teams. For The Blue Q to discover a home in this wonderous city meant setting aside the rivalry this city maintains with Chicago, then looking into the hidden gems within the Hoosier City (such as the Cultural Trail). As such, it was on the strong insistence of a large group of peregrine falcons (who seem to visit the city in May of every year) that we decided to further explore Indianapolis. We could not be happier with what we discovered!

Frequently Asked Questions

- What is the book about?

It is so much more than this, but there is a brief description: The natural balance of the Earth is in danger. The beings responsible for the wellness of our planet were forced to follow the selfish desires of a single, powerful leader, who is once again willing to destroy it all in order to destroy that which was taken from the natural ecosystem.

- For what ages is this book appropriate?

The Blue Q was purposely written to be enjoyed by readers of all ages. This book is intended for young adults, and we primarily recommend it for readers age 12 and up.

- How does the book’s availability at the Indianapolis Public Library help the Mission of The Blue Q?

Just as there are immensely diverse bird populations around the world, so too does the city of Indianapolis have a diverse population. The people of this city come from varying backgrounds, have a range of differing ideas for success, and share viewpoints that are as distinct as the many walks of life from where Indy’s people derive. This sense of diversity is an aspect by which unification is possible, which creates a stronger and more vibrant place for all. As such, the Indianapolis Public Library’s core values represent these same pillars of strength: in the never-ending pursuit to inspiring lifelong learning. One of the core themes of The Blue Q entails strength through (and because of) our vast differences. If Indianapolis can serve as an example of what is possible when we set aside external differences and focus primarily on how we can help one another, then The Blue Q’s mission has certainly discovered a prominent place to grow.
