In our journey, we have discovered that in order to find success, we have to dream big and go grand! This relentless pursuit of achieving our goals and furthering our mission has now led us to go grand indeed, to Grand Rapids, Michigan!

Just east of Lake Michigan and along the banks of the Grand River, Grand Rapids boasts a splendor of thriving arts community, a series of connected bike paths, hiking trails, sand dunes, and beaches, and a diverse (and thriving) population of literary enthusiasts. We didn’t know this at the time we discovered this library, but there is a connection between the Grand Rapids Library and Chicago (our hometown). The flagship building of the library is named after Martin A. Ryerson, a former resident of Chicago whose philanthropic work remains prominent to this day. In addition to this, the forward vision of the Grand Rapids Library includes sustainability, inclusion, and innovation, as well as to be a place where people can come together to learn, all which are key, foundational components to the Mission of The Blue Q. The library’s dedication to their community has lasted over 150 years, which is a testament towards the greatness they strive to achieve. We hope to continue to be a part of the future of Grand Rapids, MI, for the next 150 years (and beyond)!
